Inside is a similar story of modern equipment and luxury as you would expect from a top-of-the-range Ford Ranger. The peak power and torque figures are 213 ps and 500 Nm respectively. Under the hood is a 2L Bi-Turbo diesel engine mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission with power going to all four wheels. The truck also sits higher and has better approach and descent angles to tackle all kinds of terrain. The innards have also been beefed up to handle rougher terrain including a reinforced chassis, thick underbody protection, rear locking differential, and long travel Fox shock absorbers. Telling the Raptor apart from the basic Ranger is very easy thanks to the wider stance, bulging fenders, and much bolder front grille. Ford has tried to bring in the same blend of off and on-road performance into the versatility offered by the mid-size Ranger. It comes with a Terrain Management System that offers 6 traction modes - Normal, Grass / Gravel / Snow, Mud / Sand, Sport, Rock and Baja.The Ford Ranger Raptor was launched in 2018 with the F150 Raptor as the obvious inspiration. It is paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission and a four-wheel drive system. Powering the Ranger Raptor is a 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder turbo diesel engine that produces 210 BHP and 500 Nm. We have seen test mules of the Ford Ranger pick-up truck in India already. It is likely to be imported as a completely built unit (CBU) under the rule which allows the import of up to 2,500 units without the need for homologation and will be available in limited numbers. According to a media report, Ford is planning to launch the Ranger Raptor pick-up in India sometime in the second half of next year.
